Web Design Promotion - How to Improve Your Web Site's Search Engine Rankings

In Through the Out Door

One of the biggest mistakes web designers and marketers make in designing a web site is to view the main page as the only way to enter the site. While this works for marketers who want everyone to visit www.domain-name.com, search engine optimization doesn't work that way.

If you are selling widgets, you likely sell blue, red and orange colored widgets. Instead of having 1 page dedicated to widgets, why not have 3 pages; one for each color.  This helps with your content (remember, content, content content), as well as your dilemma with the number of keywords most search engines use per page (more on that later).

Most designers spend a lot of time on the main page. If you view each page as the main page or the front door to your site, you won't risk losing visitors.
