Web Site Design

While most web designers love to show what they can do. So while Flash and dynamic content may be appealing to the eyes, search engines may not be as impressed. The reason is simple: they do not understand complex languages. Its basic HTML that they understand.

So while there is a place for Flash and dynamically created pages, its key to remember that they have their place.

Remember that speed is also important. While you may have the fastest internet connection available, the vast majority of internet users are still on dial up. If your page takes awhile to load, you'll lose your visitor. If your site takes 3-4 seconds to load for a dial up user, you'll lose your visitor

Keep your site clean. Take a look at Google or Yahoo!'s page and you'll notice just how uncluttered and clean their sites are. Just the info that needs to be there should be there. If you feel that you need to add a "best viewed in..." or "download (insert application name here) to view", its probably best that you change your content.

Remember, you have about 5 seconds to keep your visitor to your site. If it looks confusing or difficult to navigate, you will lose your stickiness, and your visitor.
